Record-breaking amateur rider Liz Lalor remains in a secure condition as she recuperates in the medical facility from point-to-point autumn at Ballingarry on Saturday.

Lalor was aboard her companion Tom Keating’s U Asking Me in the concluding competition when the five-year-old took hefty autumn at the last fence.

An update on Monday from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board elderly medical officer Dr Jennifer Pugh said Lalor is mindful as she recuperates from breast injuries.

Pugh said: “Liz Lalor was carried to Cork University Hospital by Irish Community Rapid Response [ICRR] Air Ambulance. Liz is conscious as well as continues to be stable with breast injuries.

” I wish to thank the IHRB medical team at work as well as Tipperary Irish Red Cross that was at the point-to-point component as well as the ICRR air ambulance crew.”

Lalor, 39, became the most successful female point-to-point cyclist of all time in February when defeating Helen Bryce-Smith’s all-time tally of 109 champions. Her 110th success came with Come on reading To Return.

The Clonmel, County Tipperary native partnered her very first point-to-point champion in 1999 aboard Guesswork at Kinsale and also has been crowned leading lady rider on eight celebrations, initially sharing the title with Pugh in 2019.

Liz Lalor’s 100th victor between the flags at Nenagh in 2019– scoring on the Declan Queally-trained Cloudy Morning– came in emotional circumstances as it was her initial ride considering that returning after giving birth to little girl Alex 5 weeks previously.
