Adayar can clash with Baaeed in the QIPCO Champion Stakes at Ascot in October.

Champion of the Cazoo Derby and also King George VI and also Queen Elizabeth Stakes last period, Charlie Appleby’s charge hasn’t been seen on the track so far this term.

However, he’s pencilled in to return at Kempton next month as well as functions together with William Haggas’ superstar in the 42 entries for the function race on QIPCO Champions Day.

Appleby said: “I was delighted with Adayar last week when he had his initial very easy piece of work. He’ll most likely run in the September Stakes initially, ideally as preparation for QIPCO British Champions Day. We can phone after the September Stakes concerning the Arc, however, the QIPCO Champion Stakes interests me.

The Arc will certainly probably be run in soft ground, which is not to his taste, yet the gamble will certainly get on what the ground will resemble come Champions Day. We’ll see.”

He added: “I’ve been wanting all year to drop him back to a mile as well as a quarter as well as I assume it’s well within his compass to do it at that level. It will be good for him. Personally, I’d love to see him at a mile and also a quarter, yet that’s me chatting, not the equine.

The most important point is that we are now seeing the Adayar once more than we were seeing in March. He’s back in good order and it’s exciting.”
